Mutiple Objects Tracker

One idea to enhance the SmartBalls is to employ some kind of ball detector and equip the balls was RF receivers. Additional, superb effects would get possible, as an external computer would "see" all balls and could calculate the balls' colours during the show. As an example, one simple pattern would be to let balls on the right part of the stage glow green and balls one the other side red. Any pattern could be juggled, as the computer would see where on the stage each ball is and send the appropriate commands to each ball.
The following animated GIF shows this tracker applied for an application in which a synchronous animation is generated for a juggling show.

During a semester thesis at university, Urs could develop a multiple object tracker for juggling balls. This tracker analysis images taken with a camera and follows several objects, i.e. juggling balls. With some adjustments, this tracker could be used to track Globalls as well.
